The exhibition will be on display in the gallery of the TC Visual Arts Complex at 2105 South 5th St. through Nov. 30. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday or by appointment. TC will be closed for Thanksgiving Nov. 25-29.
Special Juror’s Awards were given to Starla Pierce of University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for a mixed media piece entitled “Mechanism in Time” and to Josh Pinkerdson of Harker Heights High School for a tape work entitled “Agony.”
In the college division, $100 Awards of Excellence were presented to Brent Richardson, “Economy,” fender stratucaster, of University of Mary Hardin-Baylor; Tess Kane, “Shane in a Box,” oil on campus, of McLennan Community College; and April Startzel, “Growing Upward,” wood stains on wood; Lindsay Little two awards), “By the Sea,” ceramic, and “Nesting Blue Birds,” ceramic, and Garrett Barber, “Old Chevy,” photo; all of Temple College.
Honorable Mention Awards of $50 were given to Elisa Hirt, “The Tiny General,” etching, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Ramla Ali, “Monochromatic Stains,” mixed media, Temple College.
In the high school division, $100 Awards of Excellence were given to Patrick Dolan, “The Motor Traveler,” wire, of Belton High School; Maegan Zimmerman, “Hedge Hog,” mixed media, of Harker Heights; Rachel Daheim, ”Motherhood,” acrylic, of Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Temple; Andrea Foster, “By Candle Light,” mixed media, and Eprain Perez, “Sleepy,” graphite, both of McGregor, and Alex Vacca, “Guy Hopper,” found objects, of Thorndale.
Honorable Mention Awards of $50 were given to Sean Corley, “How Spiderman was Born,” canyotype, of Georgetown High School; and Shanique Sims, “Day Dream,” mixed media, of Thorndale High School.
In addition to the award winners, the juror selected 84 pieces in the college division and 71 pieces in the high school for exhibition. High schools represented in the exhibition are Holy Trinity Catholic High School, Temple; Belton, Thorndale, Harker Heights, McGregor, Georgetown, Copperas Cove, Jarrell, Salado and Killeen. Colleges represented in the exhibition are University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Central Texas College, McLennan Community College and Temple College.
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor students whose work was selected for exhibition are Elana Abercrombie, Nathaniel Arredondo, Barbara Graham, Elisa Hirt, Emily Hulme (2), Nash Ingram, Josh Newman, Starla Pierce, Susan Powell (2), Brent Richardson, and Allie Wynne.
Central Texas College students whose work was selected are Amanda May Chaves, Vikki Kern (3), Ferdinand Diaz, Jared Orlin Hunsaker, Jin Sun Kim, Linda Knicely (2), Bridgette Lewis, and Joy Simon (2).
Tess Cain of McLennan Community College had two pieces selected for exhibition.
Temple College students whose work was selected for exhibition are Ramla Ali, Duncan Allums, Celina Ball (2), Garret Barber (2), Deana Busta, Anthony Caballero, Rudolpho Campos (2), Geneva Chadwick, Samantha Duran, Djuliana Ewing (3), Alain J.
